This Privacy Policy describes how Briefed (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services at briefed.software (the “Service”).

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide.
  • Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including the pages you visit, features you use, ticker symbols you search, and timestamps of your activity.
  • Financial queries. We collect the ticker symbols, company names, and analytical queries you submit to generate briefings and models. We use this data to deliver results and improve the quality of our service.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details (card number, billing address) are processed directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
  • Device and technical data. We collect browser type, IP address, operating system, and referring URLs to maintain security and improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating financial briefings and models.
  • Process transactions and send related notices (receipts, subscription confirmations).
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends and activity to improve our product.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities.
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages.
  • Send promotional communications, with your consent where required by law. You may opt out at any time.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with several third-party providers to deliver financial data, AI analysis, and payments. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data practices:

  • SEC EDGAR. Public filing data is retrieved from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database. No personal data is transmitted.
  • Yahoo Finance. Market data (share prices, key statistics) is sourced from Yahoo Finance. No personal data is transmitted.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI). AI-generated analysis and summaries are produced via the Anthropic API. Financial query content may be transmitted to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
  • Stripe. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe may collect and store your payment and billing information directly. Please review Stripe's privacy policy for details.
  • Supabase. User account data and application data are stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database provider.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).

The Service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Briefed is a financial data and research tool. Financial data is sourced from SEC EDGAR public filings, Yahoo Finance, and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED). Macro-economic indicators including Treasury yields, inflation rates, and credit spreads are retrieved from FRED and updated daily. Nothing on this platform constitutes investment advice, a solicitation, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
